Warbler Migration in Western New York

Palm Warbler

Palm Warbler

Today my friend and I visited…

Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve. It is such a friendly place where a walk in the woods is kinda storybook like. You almost expect the birds to flutter about as you walk through the spring ephemeral flowers.

We kinda got shut out looking for birds although we heard woodpeckers pecking and robins singing.

I made the suggestion to go to Forest Lawn Cemetery and to our delight, the warblers are back chasing insects in all the beautiful crabapple trees.

Warbler migration has begun in our area and the next couple of weeks we will be seeing so many different warblers. Today we saw many kinds of warblers, but the ones in this post were rather plentiful. Stay tuned. I promise to take my good Nikon with me the next time. Today since we were only looking for wildflowers, I only had the Nikon P510 along. Monday another trip and it will be warblers, warblers and more warblers.

This little chipmunk was cute greeting us at the door to his home. The one above was sitting in the only ray of sun peeking through the forest. Run deer, run..
