  2. Beautiful close shots.

  3. Ohhh, you **know** they are my fav flowers…kids are instructed to plant ’em around my gravesite…gruesome perhaps, but it helps to get the word out in advance heh-heh! 😀

May I have permission to use a photo in an upcoming blog post?
    ps-is there really a T-shirt for sale?

Beautiful photographs! One of my daughters is sitting with me. She loves butterflies and loved seeing these pictures. Thank you for sharing them!

I think I would gag at the sight ofthe caterpillars in real life but Imay be wrong-they are beautiful photos. and done in a format that says it all very well.

  8. :-)!!!! Ever since my Asclepia [Hoya carnosa] started blooming [2 years ago -after having it for 7+ years!] I started noticing cocoons, then larvas munching my rue and then butterflies around!
    Happy new week, Donna! 🙂

  9. Succinct and well illustrated!

  10. wow, there are lots of ‘forms’ of milkweed === nothing like the milkweed we had in missisippi.. i’ll have to do some research.

this is beautiful – who would NOT want that growing in their gardens?

i am in town so the images loaded, as did the comment box.. yay!!!! it’s always a treat to see and read your posts!

  11. Beautiful butterfly, I saw them two times on two of the Canarian Islands. They are verry rear over here. The “pop” picture 6 shows already how the butterfly is going to look like. I like this photo also verry much.

  12. Outstanding photos – wow! When I was still living in upstate NY, and saw milkweed everywhere, I couldn’t fully understand the impact that its disappearance in some places is apparently having.

  13. Annette says:

Stunning, Donna, no milkweed in my garden this year and even if there was, there’d be none of these magnificent butterflies. I saw them in New Zealand though.

  14. With our very stormy weather in June the monarchs went around us and the central part of the state…hoping to still see some…we have loads of milkweed right now with lots of ants and bees visiting.

  15. Lyle Krahn says:
