Where the dragonflies fly…
Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square, PA, has 5 large, showy pools with massive Water Lily Platters in the courtyard just outside the Conservancy. It has 100 varieties of both tropical and hardy waterlilies.
Take the tour, it is quite a spectacular place.
Where you might find a dragonfly where ever you might look. I spied some very large dragonflies, but none of those landed on the warm, humid day.
Beautiful place and very big Lily Platters.
I like the dragonfly on the sign. Almost as if he’s saying: “Hey, I’m here too.”
Amazing photos!
Very large indeed … I wonder how large the dragonfly was you are talking about.
I love water lilies and find the larger, tropical versions to be so fascinating…Your photos were fantastic.
Love the dragonfly on the label with the lily in the background! What a perfectly composed shot.
The water garden at Longwood is one of my favorite places there. Some of the other areas are a little too big and anonymous but the water garden feels cozy.
Beautiful waterlilies Donna. We saw almost identical display with the large lily pad intermingles with many different species of flowering lilies recently in Kew Gardens, London.
These are ‘other-worldly’ creature habitats. Neat-oh!
Wow these are stunning pictures…I have always wanted to see this pond and these large lily pads in person!
Beautiful! I have always loved the waterlily:)
